About betabump and beyond

When I started this blog there was something underneath my shirt and it wasn’t just a big lunch. I was pregnant, delighted, but terrified. As my belly grew, so did the number of bizarre comments from strangers. I’ve always written to calm myself down and a blog seemed a sensible outlet for my increasing levels of hormonal indignation.

Today, I’m the proud mother of a noisy little boy, and still pretty confused about this whole parenting business. I still don’t know what I’m doing and, just like when I was pregnant, I still need to write things down to stay sane. Plus, I have a lot of opinions, and if I were to blurt them out in the middle of Wind the Bobbin up I might get kicked out of Bounce and Rhyme.

I hope you enjoy my ranting. If you’re pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or reading this at 3am with an infant attached to your nipple, I hope it makes you chuckle. You definitely deserve a laugh. Mothers everywhere, I salute you.
